Hi Werner,
I found this site elektroersatzteile-info.de
And they have this plug El-STA003 you'll
have to put this in the search box!!
Anyway they tell me it's heat resistant!
Would this be suitable for the trockenpresser!!
Niall
MKL
Yes, this is the one for old style paper dry presses.

Gast
Dear Niall,
yes that's the right one for your Press.
Werner
Gast
Good!! i'm trying to communicate with them!
But, it's vewry tricky!!!
My German is zero and thereenglish is not so hot either!
Niall
Gast
Well, it seems I would have to buy 4 from them which would cost 18,00 Euros approx!! PLUS 18,50 Postage = 36,00 Approx!!!
that sounds like too much to me!!!
Are there any other shops in Germany that sell these plugs!!!
Niall
Gast
Dear Niall,
I think that El-STA003 is the official code for this plug (i have seen offers from a dutch firm and from a firm of iceland in the net), so that i would ask in your home country in a specialist electro shop for this plug .
Probably there were exports of machines with tis plug also to ireland so that the plugs must be available.
Even there would be cheaper plugs in germany, your main problem were the high shipping costs.
Werner
Gast
.....I definitly won't get one here!!!
if you know anywhere else I could look
I wouls be grateful!!
Niall

Dear Niall,
I see two oppinions for you, first were to ask Mr. Boeddecker to send you such a plug with your next order.
The second oppinion might be to ask the question for the plug in this newsgroup
http://www.phototec.de/frame39.htm
it's another german newsgroup, but in my view there are more participants even from foreign countries (you don't need to sign).

An Fotoimpex,
Werner
Gast
Who is Mr. boedekker!!1
And does He have these plugs!
Niall
Gast
What's that German stuff you've written, Werner?
Gast
Dear Niall,
Mr. Boeddecker is the owner of this shop, "fotoimpex", and i thaugt that you would be a client of him, so that you could get a plug of him (with your next order of photographic material).
But when you are not a client of him it is probably not possible.
I said in german to Mr. boeddecker that I am a bit sorry to tell you about the other newsgroup in his newsgroup because that is actually a newsgroup of his competetor (they both sell darkroom equipment) so that is not hundred per cent "fine style" but I tjink it is more important to get your press working.
And I added further that he could help you probably with the plug.
Niall, I know that my explanation isn't really good to understand but my english is not very good.
Werner
PS: Franz will send you the plug on monday so that there is no problem any longer (phototec newsgroup)

Hi Niall,
Mirko Boedecker runs this site. He is owner of the German company "Fotoimpex" which deals with films, photographic paper and other stuff. Fotoimpex is famous for selling Efke and Foma products, Efke-films are of very low grain and high resolution. They give an "old fashioned" look, if you develop them properly.
Werner excused himself for linking Phototec. Phototec is run by Mr. Loeffler and is also a company selling photo products. Peter Loeffler sells Amaloco chemicals (Dutch), Lucky films, and runs internet message boards also. I believe Werner linked to phototec as their message boards are online for a longer time and more people read them.
Both Mirko and Peter sell nearly all you need, so you'll get Ilford/Agfa/Kodak there as well.
Don't panic, just wait. As I already told you, I have two of those plugs here and will send you one. Like we discussed in our mail.
Franz
I will translate to German now.)
Franz

I have two more questions about the Foto-Galvano Press!!!
Can any one translate the instruction leaflet for me ?
And can I get spare cloths for it???
Niall

Hi Niall,
I just posted this for you at the other board:
-->
Hi Niall,
I sent you a letter today. It contains one plug (4,50) and cost me 2,50 for shipping. Should arrive in the next days.
If it does not arrive until next Wednesday (July, 14th), leave me a message.
Bank things should have been made clear with my letter. I'm awaiting your transfer, otherways your postcards. One with a nice Guinness' advert would be fine indeed. Second one with a sight of Dublin. I've never been there.
Best regards,
Franz
<--
Okay, quoting ends. Posting starts right here.
If you scan the leaflet and mail it to me (<2MB please, otherways it'll bounce) I'll translate it within two or three days. Better: Provide it for download at your webspace. Hope you understand my rotten english... Your part.
Well, spare cloth for dryers... I asked my mother to make it. She took a part of white, thick, cotton cloth, took it some times in the washing mashine at 90°C and then sewed it for me. Still works fine. Both drying cloth *and* mother:-)))
Be sure to have a well educated mother and a real cotton cloth. Mothers are substitutable by a tailor and money, real good cotton cloth isn't. ;-)
And, please, do me a favour: Don't drink and do darkroom work. Won't work.
Nearly forgotten: Please contact this plug as follows: One inner pin as life, the other one as ground. Doesn't matter which one is contacted to what source pin. Outer pins (those two metal lashes) are "earth". Please contact them also, keeps you alive.
Yours,
Franz
Gast
...It's ok I think I got a translation of it!!!
But, what about this old fashioned look your talking
about with Efke Film!!!
Niall
Gast
Niall,
Efke Films look different us modern Films, they look a bit creamy in the brighter tones, further they have got a brighter green but a darker red, all in all a very nice 1950’s -style Emulsion with a high range of tonal diversity.
They were first sold as ADOX until the late 1960's, now they are sold as Efke, I like them very much.
I would recommend you mostly the KB/R/PL 50, enough Speed and very fine granularity, test these films.
For me and my little English hard to descrive, look at English information of Fotoimpex.
Last, to your dryer, you know also that you can use such one only for fibre based paper and not for Rc-paper (only as additional information, to avoid melting Rc-paper on your press)?
Franz,
About Irish electric, much safer than in Deutschland, a fuse in each plug 1Amp. in little machines 5Amp. in bigger, 13 Amp. in big machines.
You cannot fit any other plug in the socket as a 3-pin-plug, of course with grounding, the grounding pin switches voltage on, and opens the socket.
The british/irish plug and electricity-system is the safest all over the world, definitely safer than our deutschen plug- and fuse-system.
Werner
Gast
...yes,I was a bit surprised to find that you Germans still use two
pin plugs still!!
that surprised me a great deal as I always thought you people were
ahead of the game, if you pardon the expression!!! By that I mean
I thought your electrical system would be ultra modern!
Werner, your English is very good so far, how do you know so much about our electricity system etc!
Niall
